The Bellini Project
For four years, I kept returning to the same place with a camera.
What began as photographs of a bar became a record of something larger: the people who passed through it, the lives that briefly crossed, the friendships, rituals, chance encounters and ordinary moments that made it what it was.
The Bellini Project is not really about a wine bar. It is about a place in time.
And, as time passes, the photographs will tell us more.
On Saturday 5 September,
Copy Zero comes home to Bellini.
And there it will remain.
Per quattro anni, sono tornato nello stesso luogo, con una macchina fotografica.
Quello che era iniziato come una serie di fotografie di un bar è diventato il racconto di qualcosa di più grande: le persone che lo hanno attraversato, le vite che per un momento si sono incrociate, le amicizie, i rituali, gli incontri casuali e quei momenti quotidiani che hanno reso Bellini ciò che era.
The Bellini Project non parla davvero di un’enoteca. Parla di un luogo in un preciso momento nel tempo.
E, con il passare del tempo, queste fotografie avranno sempre più cose da raccontarci.
Sabato 5 settembre,
Copy Zero tornerà a casa, da Bellini.
E lì rimarrà.

There was no assignment and no plan to make a book. He simply kept returning.
Bellini is something of a portal. Locals from many countries, regulars, travellers, friends, strangers and recurring guest stars pass through the same few square metres. People meet, disappear and return. Lives cross.
The Bellini Project brings together 305 photographs from those years: a record of a place, its people, and moments that cannot be repeated.
